For ‘Sparky’ nothing succeeds like failure. He’s been fired by four teams but it’s estimated he’s received £18 Million compo. That’s over and above what he actually earnt. Mental

Hope they sling it overboard somewhere off Cardigan Bay this time.

I need to look around for another manager in peril to laugh at. I did enjoy 'Sparkys' post game analysis each week, whether he would blame the ref, the press or both.

Woy 'we showed a good account of ourselves' Hodgson runs a close 2nd.

The merry go round begins....

Terrible news.

I've been really enjoying his serial hopelessness.

Get a new job soon Mark! Maybe at Spurs!

A bit like Souness there before him.
As Bonzo said, and demonstrated, great players don't always make great managers.

I seem to remember an interview with Dev in Ex Magazine around 10 years ago and at one point I think he was a bit pissed off that he hadn't been given the chance but it was a case of who you know not what you know. By then though I think he was happy enough at lower level like you say.

Miss that Ex Magazine it was a bloody good read.

Re: Mark Hughes sacked again
I think Devonshire must be happy coaching at the level he is at.
He hasn't pushed himself to go any higher. Probably doesn't want the stress or media scrutiny but enjoys being in football.

I asked the question about Alan Devonshire (on here) once before and I was told he doesn't have the required coaching badges to go any higher than his current level.

Which is a real shame because he could be a very good manager.

When they play Swansea in the Championship, the fans will be able to reminisce together about when they were the best run clubs in the PL...

Re: Mark Hughes sacked again
After the piss-taking that Southampton dished out to us when the Dudley dope was 'managing' us I would just love to see him end up there.

I can't see the serial moaner Hughes ever getting another Prem job. He'll have to settle for the Championship now. But whoever takes over from him I just hope that Southampton go down this time. After selling off all their best home grown players over the last 10 or 12 years they deserve the drop.

First premier league manger to be sacked by two clubs in one year. LOL

That is 100% correct. Some people are extremely fortunate in life.

Amazing to me that this cunt gets 6 MILLION POUNDS in compo ! He must be gutted...

Re: Mark Hughes sacked again
All the football apologists like that cunt Jim White will be out in force supporting him and backing him and saying it's unfair.

Hughes has not even reached average for me as a manager. He is just another one of those managers that keep getting jobs despite doing nothing of note as a manager.

Good job to be in if you can get it.

Re: Mark Hughes sacked again
When we played there under the walrus, the home fans used to delight in chanting HOOOOOOFFFF every time our defenders cleared the ball. Ironic if either Allardyce or Moyes are in the frame.

Is the owner still that chubby woman who loves eating Toblerone?

Re: Mark Hughes sacked again
Soton have fallen off a cliff recent years. Lost the recruitment guy to Spurs and Les Reed and appointed shit managers who have blown alot of money on alot of shit ever since.
Tipped them to go down at 7/1 start of season, they just dont have enough goals in them. Moyes at 25's looks most appealing with the bookies
